Today, Bhavnagar is the fifth-largest city of Gujarat and the second-largest city in the Saurashtra region (it is also known as the cultural capital of Saurashtra). Other features include the acropolis, the lower town, the bead factory, the warehouses, and the drainage system. The site has been nominated to be enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
