16 March: Udaipur -Ranakpur -Jodhpur
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, depart by road to Jodhpur in a journey of approximately 5 hours. On the way, it is possible to see green hills. Stop to visit the Temples of Ranakpur, monuments dedicated to the Jains (people of one of the oldest religions in India) with emphasis on the carving done in its 1444 pillars, distributed in its 29 halls. Inside the closed temple, the guide cannot speak. Because of this, the ticket includes the rental of an audio guide (in Spanish and English). Women have to cover their hair (without extreme rigor) when entering the temple. It is possible to take pieces of clothing with scarves to serve as your own veil that can be a scarf. Stop for lunch (without drinks) at a local restaurant in Ranakpur, and transfer to Jodhpur. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast. The city of Jodhpur is situated in the Thar Desert which is a popular tourist destination due to its numerous palaces, forts, and temples. Known worldwide as the “Blue City” for the color of the houses just below the Mehrangarh Fort. This tradition began as the Brahmins, the priestly caste, painted their houses blue.
